about

Having sustained several injuries as a dancer and former competitive horseback rider, Georgia came to Pilates as a means to rebalance and better understand their own body. Their teaching practice is rooted in their study of the body through an anatomical and somatic lens as well as their interest in investigating and making more accessible the healing power of movement. Equally valid in forming this practice is their queerness as it is woven through their embodied experiences as mover, teacher, relational being, and student of life.

Georgia received their Pilates mat and equipment certification under the tutelage of Kelly Kane at The Kane School of Core Integration in New York City. Continuing education credits include the KinectEd residency program, FAMI (Functional Anatomy for Movement and Injury) at Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai, Kinesthetic Anatomy with Irene Dowd, Proprioception and Injury with Kuan Hui Chew, and Movement for Trauma with Jane Clapp. Georgia managed queer owned and operated Manifest Bodyworks in Brooklyn, NY, helping to create a space for LGBTQIA2S+ people to celebrate and connect to their bodies and each other through movement.
